Graduate Certificates

Graduate certificates are comprised of fifteen credits, and are a focused avenue for deepening your knowledge and experience in your thematic or regional area of interest.

If you’re a current Georgetown University graduate student, you can choose between two certificates run by the Global Human Development Program to deepen your understanding and expertise in the field. You may also explore additional certificates offered through the School of Foreign Service (SFS).

The Graduate Certificate in Global Human Development

This certificate will train you in global development as a complement to your primary regional or functional degree. In an increasingly interconnected world, your ability to address issues related to poverty is paramount to helping individuals throughout the world and work toward successful outcomes in global economic stability and growth, diplomacy and security.

The Graduate Certificate in Social Innovation and Global Development

This certificate aims to foster a culture of social innovation. You’ll learn to develop an innovative mindset with key skills and tools to identify, develop and scale social innovations to tackle complex development challenges and to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
