Title: SIGLA Research Assistant Position Open!

Are you a rising junior or senior? Are you interested in Latin American political institutions? Are you fluent, or do you have an advanced level of proficiency, in Portuguese? If the answer to all three of these questions is yes, please read on!

SIGLA (States and Institutions of Governance in Latin America, (http://sigla.georgetown.domains/gateway/) is a multi-lingual database of historical and contemporary information about political and legal institutions in 20 countries of Latin America. Comprehensive, systematic, and user-friendly, SIGLA aims to become the authoritative source of data on law and politics in Latin America for scholars, policymakers, and other practitioners in the U.S., across the region, and around the world.

The project seeks to hire a Research Assistant (RA) to work on the Brazil team this summer (with the potential to continue working with SIGLA during the 2021-2022 academic year). RAs work 10-15 hours/week gathering, systematizing, organizing, updating, verifying, publishing, and performing quality assurance on the data published on the SIGLA site, which are freely available on the internet.
