Keith Richards – Chair
Keith is a senior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Political Economy with a certificate in African Studies. Hailing from Boston, MA he has a great deal of New England pride. His research interests relate to development econ, applied microeconomics, financial technology with a geographic focus on Africa. When he isn’t chairing the Carroll Round, Keith can be found playing soccer, drinking chai, and watching Rocket League with Aaron.
Tai Markman – Logistics Co-Chair
Tai is a junior in the College majoring in Political Economy and Computer Science with a minor in Statistics. Originally from Orlando, Florida, she is interested in economic analysis related to criminal justice, labor, and mental health. Outside the Carroll Round, Tai is involved in dance, mental health advocacy, and criminal justice advocacy groups. In her free time, she loves to watch reality TV, make puns, and argue about music.
Courtney Powers – Logistics Co-Chair
Courtney is a sophomore in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Economics. Originally from Houston, Texas, Courtney is interested in international development, specifically how economics can work to inform health policy. Outside of serving as one of the logistics co-chairs, she enjoys swimming, Sudoku, meeting new people, and talking about Texas.
Danny Liu – Applications/Recruitment Co-Chair
Danny is a sophomore in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International History. He is from Dalian, China and has studied in Peking University, which directly draws him into Economics and Law. Specifically, Danny is interested in the intersection of law, history, and behavioral economics. In his free time, Danny enjoys reading, listening to rock music (One Ok Rock fan), and watching soccer (Atletico Madrid fan), movies, and K-drama.
Andrew Morin – Applications/Recruitment Co-Chair
Andrew is a senior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Economics with minors in Mathematics and History. Originally from New York, he is interested in international macroeconomics as well as competition policy, both foreign and domestic. Outside of economics, Andrew likes reading history, tracking foreign elections, and visiting American counties.
Aaron Shtilerman- Applications/Recruitment Co-Chair
Aaron is a senior in the College double majoring in Mathematics and Economics. He grew up in New York City and has a strong interest in mathematical modeling, data analysis, and game theory. He is specifically interested in firm-level microeconomics and consumer behavior. In his free time, Aaron enjoys watching various math and economics videos on Youtube (shoutout 3blue1brown!) and playing Rocket League. He also loves all sorts of board games, puzzles, and brain twisters.
Anvitha Reddy – Speaker Liaison
Anvitha is a sophomore in the School of Foreign Service studying International Political Economy. From Dallas, Texas, she is particularly interested in economic development through international organizations, specifically issues of trade policy and foreign investment. Outside of the Carroll Round, Anvitha is a fan of runs on the Georgetown Waterfront, jazz music, and the 33 Route on the MetroBus.
Pujan Shah – Operating Funds Chair
Pujan is a sophomore in the School of Foreign Service intending to major in International Economics with a minor in statistics. He is originally from Princeton, New Jersey and is interested in behavioral economics and financial economics. In his free time, Pujan enjoys playing tennis, going on runs, and watching a myriad of sports, from formula one to football.
Frank Liu – Editor-in-Chief of the Carroll Round Proceedings
Frank is a sophomore majoring in international economics. He has lived in Beijing before coming to the States, which inspires him to do field research on politics and economics. His academic interests include economics, finance, history, and law. He is a tea lover, Coldplay fan, and a theater performer.
Victoria Che – Programming Co-Chair
Victoria is a junior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Politics and minoring in Economics and French. She is originally from China but has been living in the US for eight years. Victoria is passionate about the intersection of law and economics in developing countries. Outside of the Carroll Round, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgetown International Relations Association.
Tomas Torterola – Programming Co-Chair
Tomas is a sophomore in the College double majoring in Economics and Computer Science. Originally from Argentina, he is drawn to research on monetary policy and FX markets, especially relating to exchange rate crises. On the programming side, he enjoys algorithm development and the possibilities of blockchain technology. He inherited a passion for soccer and grilling, inviting friends for both whenever and wherever possible.
Marco Uustal – Programming Co-Chair
Marco serves as the Programming Co-chair for the 23rd Carroll Round Steering Committee. He is a Junior in the School of Foreign Service, and is pursuing a degree in International Economics. He has published research in the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review on disability discrimination in Supreme Court jurisprudence, worked for the Legal Team of an Estonian VC, and taught Microeconomic Principles as a TA for Georgetown’s Department of Economics. In his freetime, he is an avid freediver, soccer player, and reader.
Isabel Stein – Long Term Development Chair
Isabel is a freshman in the College majoring in Economics and Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. Originally from New Jersey, she is passionate about international economics as well as environmental economics. Outside of economics, Isabel enjoys hiking, crossword puzzles, fencing, and watching basketball.
Ben Whitfield – Communications Chair
Ben is a freshman in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Political Economy and minoring in Statistics. Originally from North Carolina, he is interested in researching emerging markets and development through the lens of FDI and trade policy. On the side, Ben competes with Georgetown’s Ballroom Dance team and explores DC in pursuit of its best coffee.
Angelina Georgacopoulos – Alumni Relations Chair
Angelina is a sophomore in the College majoring in Economics and English. Originally from Massachusetts, she is passionate about behavioral economics and the intersection between economics and social justice. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and creative writing.
