Yaj hopes to work in U.S. foreign policy, human rights protection and promotion, and be part of the U.S. government’s efforts to ameliorate injustice and suffering worldwide.
Yaj has lobbied for foreign aid legislation with the Borgen Project, engaged in anti-human trafficking advocacy research for Unbound Now, and is a current VSFS intern with the U.S. State Department at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia working on anti-corruption and regional security issues. At Georgetown, Yaj is part of the Georgetown International Research Group, serves on the SFS Academic Council, and coordinates weekly discussions on social movements as Team Lead for GU Politics Fellow Waleed Shahid. In his free time, Yaj loves to be in nature, binge Netflix with his friends, sing, and attend fun events with the Japanese Network and Georgetown Chess Club.
