William Doran
Class of 2025
Major: International Politics
Hometown: Danbury, CT
William is most interested in public service careers focused on national security and counterterrorism, particularly regarding state-sponsored terrorism and proxy militias in the Near East. He is currently interning with USCENTCOM at the Dept. of Defense and plans to intern with the Dept. of State in the summer of 2025. William aspires to join the federal government’s efforts in counterterrorism and tracking Near Eastern conflicts with cartography and GIS, and is excited for the Pelosi Scholars Initiative’s skill-building and mentorship opportunities to better bridge the experiential gap between academics and public service.
At Georgetown, William is a Deputy Head Delegate for Georgetown’s Model UN team, as well as a T.A. for Map of the Modern World. In his spare time, William enjoys cycling, practicing freehand cartography, and experimenting with new languages on Duolingo.
