Sophie is interested in the intersection of energy security and climate change in the policy-making field. She is fascinated by the role of critical minerals in the energy transition and their supply chain risks. This semester, she researched the US mining law and permitting system in her Environmental Policy and Data Science classes. Initially studying biology at Georgetown, she also conducted research on medulloblastoma at the Lombardi Cancer Center and worked for a biotechnology company over her gap year. Sophie enjoys bouldering and top roping with the Georgetown rock climbing club in her free time.
