Sophia is fascinated by the intersection between media & entertainment, new technologies, and soft power. Her belief in the power of storytelling fuels her commitment to pursuing the liberalization of information flows between countries. Growing up in the Bay Area inspired her orientation towards technology, specifically using it as a tool to build mutual empathy and understanding in a divided world through storytelling. At Georgetown, Sophia is a research assistant at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET) and works with Professor Sky Sitney in organizing the DC/DOX Film Festival. She enjoys exploring DC, hiking, and watching movies in her free time.
