Shawna Julia comes to us from American University, where she was a Senior Advisor for undergraduate students studying International Studies. Shawna began her career in higher education at the George Washington University, where she was an advisor in the study abroad office working with incoming J-1 exchange students. Over the years she has worked with students from all over the world, their commonality (with each other and her) being the passion to build community across cultures. She believes in empowering students to become their own decision makers and enjoys supporting them in both their academic and personal development.
