Jupiter Huang
Guangzhou, China; Lawrenceville, NJ | Science, Technology, & Intl. Affairs
Having spent much of his childhood in Guangzhou, China, and moving to the United States at 14, Jupiter’s academic interests stem from his experience living in opposite worlds. In particular, he’s keen on studying space policy, renewable energy policy, and climate security as areas of international cooperation, particularly in US-China and US-Latin America relations. Next summer, he aims to explore the role of science in US foreign policy and better understand structures of decision-making through working in either a federal agency or think-tank. Outside of the classroom, as a Mortara Undergraduate Research Fellow, he’s currently assisting Professor Toshihiro Higuchi in his research on the evolution of World War III and accidental nuclear war. He’s also the current Executive News Editor for the Georgetown Voice, a mentor for Georgetown Opportunities for Leadership Development, and enjoys painting, reading, and playing tennis in his free time.
