Cynthia is passionate about the promotion of civil society within the People’s Republic of China, particularly concerning minoritized ethnicities. She studies Regional and Comparative Studies with a concentration in Asia, as well as Uyghur language and Chinese language. On campus, she is a Laidlaw Undergraduate Researcher, exploring the interplay between Chinese Communist Party policy, media, and minority ethnicity in identity construction with Professor Shernuk. Cynthia also serves on the board of the Georgetown Mock Trial team and works closely with Model UN. In her free time, you can find her knitting or sipping on an americano or matcha. Cynthia is grateful to have the opportunity to join this year’s cohort of Pelosi Scholars and is thrilled to work with everyone!
