“I would do it all again in a heartbeat,” says Beyza Yazici (SFS’22), an International Politics major at SFS. During her time on the Hilltop, the first generation college student has had some once-in-a-lifetime experiences including interning for Senator Chris Van Hollen (L’90) and meeting Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (H’02).
However, despite these high-profile encounters, it is the more day-to-day memories that Yazici says defines her Georgetown journey. Whether studying with friends in Lauinger Library or attending events hosted by the Muslim Student Association, the soon-to-be alumna says that moments of connection with her friends are the ones she will cherish the most.
“My friends at Georgetown, these people that I’ve met, I just know I’ll be friends with them for the rest of my life,” she says. “I could not have gotten to graduation without their help, love, support.”
