Title: Georgetown University Mourns the Passing of James Reardon-Anderson (1944-2022)

Jim Reardon-Anderson stands at podium.“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the sad news of the passing of Prof. Jim Reardon-Anderson, who through more than three decades of service to SFS represented the very best of our school. He served in just about every leadership position in SFS, most notably as the Founding Dean of the SFS campus in Qatar and the Interim Dean of SFS after the passing of Carol Lancaster. He directed our Asian Studies Program, led the MSFS program, and served as the Chair of the Faculty Council. He held the Sun Yat-sen Chair of Chinese Studies and taught the iconic Map of the Modern World class for all SFS students. To put it simply, Jim shaped the modern SFS. And in all his roles, he was deeply respected for his fairness, his essential goodness, his commitment to the people of SFS, and his unwavering dedication to the values of our school. I hope you will join me in paying tribute to his extraordinary legacy at SFS.”
