Dechen Atsatsang

Dechen transferred from Harper College, where she founded a chapter of Amnesty International to promote human rights on campus. As a Tibetan American, she is deeply engaged in advocacy for Tibetan, Uyghur, and Hong Kong communities, having lobbied for the Resolve Tibet Act and led grassroots organizing efforts as the president of Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) Chicago.
At Georgetown, Dechen is involved with Hoyas for Human Rights and Delta Phi Epsilon, and is currently interning with the International Campaign for Tibet as an Advocacy and Research Intern. Dechen is passionate about advancing human rights and making a meaningful impact through public service. As a Pelosi Scholar, she hopes to explore public service opportunities in diplomacy, international development, and human rights advocacy, including potential pathways in the U.S. Foreign Service.
