Miles McInerney is a junior majoring in Regional and Comparative Studies, focusing on Asia, with a minor in Mandarin. His regional interests include the Indo-Pacific, relations between the U.S. and ASEAN, and China's influence in the Pacific.
Miles is a Volunteer Student Federal Service (VSFS) intern with the U.S. Department of State (DOS) Office for the Analysis of East Asia and the Pacific. Miles interned twice with DOS, most recently with the Bureau of Energy Resources for the Middle East and Asia. He has also participated in the Georgetown U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues with Peking University (2022) and completed fieldwork with Prof. Ambassador Dessima Williams on the impact of climate change on Grenada's disaster management approach.
Miles competes as a crisis specialist on the Georgetown Model UN team. In addition, he was a Lannan Fellow in the Lannan Center for Poetics and Social Practice (2023) and is a published poet. Miles was born in London, grew up in California, and studied in Beijing.
