Practitioners in Residence

The Practitioners in Residence initiative promotes interactions between students and leading international affairs practitioners to advance professional development. Every year, leading global affairs professionals mentor students and offer career guidance and advice through activities such as skills clinics, seminars and career sessions.

This program helps prepare you to be a creative leader in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. You will learn from professionals with a distinguished record of professional achievement and exceptional community service. By connecting with mentors in leading roles, you will gain a deeper understanding of the various contexts of contemporary international relations.

Each spring, members of the Master of Science in Foreign Service Curriculum Committee nominate potential practitioner in residence candidates. Selected members serve a one-year term.

Current practitioners

As recognized experts in their fields, practitioners in residence represent at least one of our four academic concentrations, global politics and security, global business and finance, international development or science, technology and international affairs.
