The Master in Diplomacy and International Affairs (MDIA) program is designed to cultivate future leaders in the Asia Pacific. MDIA equips practitioners from the public, private and nonprofit sectors in the region with essential skills to tackle the most pressing global and regional challenges. Offered through Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, the MDIA program combines world-class academic instruction with real-world diplomatic practice across Georgetown’s three locations in Jakarta, Doha and Washington, DC.
Our program offers a rigorous, accelerated path for professionals looking to advance their careers in international relations, diplomacy and global governance. Over the course of one academic year, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of global issues while developing critical diplomatic and leadership skills.
The Master in Diplomacy and International Affairs is specially designed for international affairs practitioners in relevant fields such as foreign affairs, finance, defense, environment and trade from Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region. Curriculum
The MDIA program is a 30-credit master’s program that spans one academic year, offering a dynamic and globally focused curriculum. With Georgetown’s multi-location learning model, you will have the opportunity to study across three strategically significant cities: Jakarta, Indonesia; Doha, Qatar; and Washington, DC. Each contributes a unique perspective on international affairs.
Through a blend of core courses, site visits, and interdisciplinary learning, you will deepen your expertise in key areas such as international relations, economic diplomacy, environmental policy and global leadership.
