If you want to pursue a career in government, business or international organizations both domestic and abroad, the Master of Arts of Latin American Studies will help you get there. By concentrating your studies, enhancing your research skills and strengthening a regional or issue focus, you’ll complete the program empowered to join the hemisphere’s next generation of leaders, scholars and innovators. 

Curriculum

The Master of Arts in Latin American Studies is a rigorous, interdisciplinary graduate program. You can choose between a coursework and capstone option or a coursework and thesis option– both are 36 credits. You will expand your focus by selecting from one of our concentrations: Governance and New Leaderships, Development and Political Economy or History, Culture, and Society. In addition to courses in your chosen concentration, the curriculum includes four core courses, a research methods course, an elective course and a capstone course.
