How to apply
To apply to the M.A. in Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies, you must submit the application and all required materials for admissions review. Consider attending an information session to learn more about the program and the application process.
Tuition
For the M.A. in Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies, you will pay tuition at the established annual rate per credit hour of the Georgetown Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. The M.A. in Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies program is a 36-credit degree program.
Tuition fees exclude individual health care or health insurance premiums, books and supplies, student fees, visas and any travel expenses. The Office of Revenue and Receivables provides additional information regarding tuition breakdown and student fees through the university.
Health insurance is mandatory for all full-time students, though you may be eligible to waive the health insurance fee if you already have health coverage. For more information on waiving the health insurance fee, please contact the Student Health Insurance Office.

Merit aid, scholarships, fellowships and grants
Merit aid
You will automatically be considered for merit-based aid by the admissions committee on the basis of academic record and intellectual promise. You will receive your decision about scholarship awards when you receive your admissions decision.
Grants for travel and research
The Graduate School of Arts & Sciences has information on smaller grants for graduate student research and conference travel.
Language scholarships
If you need language training before taking the advanced-level language courses required by the program, you are eligible for language scholarships from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. These enable you to receive additional language training without incurring extra tuition costs. Only current students may apply for a language scholarship. Please note that language scholarships cannot be used for language courses numbered over 350 (e.g., RUSS-355) or for courses taken outside Georgetown University.

Because scholarship funding is limited, we encourage you to seek outside funding, including federal assistance. The Office of Student Financial Aid provides information on financial aid, part-time employment and loan programs such as the U.S. Department of Education Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan Program.
