SFS alumni celebrate Reunion Weekend 2025

Georgetown alumni from across generations returned to the Hilltop to celebrate Reunion Weekend 2025. SFS welcomed alumni, families and friends to a lively reception in the Edward B. Bunn, S.J., Intercultural Center (ICC)—a space that holds countless memories for many Hoyas.

Among them were Anupam Chakravarty (SFS’10) and Connie Parham Chakravarty (SFS’10), who first met in a French class their freshman year. Now married and parents to a young daughter, Reya—perhaps a future SFSer—they walked the halls of the ICC with a new generation in tow.

“Every great thing in my life is because of the SFS. We learn how to care about the whole world and how to bring that sensibility to everything we do locally, and I really love the friends I made, the professors and everything I got to learn in this building and through the School of Foreign Service,” said Anupam Chakravarty.

Megan Murday (SFS’15) and Megan Bodie (SFS’15), longtime friends and classmates, reflected on how Georgetown’s commitment to service shaped their paths—both personal and professional.

“Georgetown for me is all about commitment to service, whether you’re in the public sector or private sector,” said Murday.

“Georgetown provided me with such great friends that I’m still in touch with 10 years later,” Bodie added.

SFS Dean Joel Hellman addressed the crowd with a warm welcome, emphasizing the ongoing role alumni play in a complex, interconnected world.

“I hope that you stay engaged—no matter what you’re doing in your lives—with the issues,” he said. “What we need now, most importantly, is as big a network as possible, committed to the ideals that brought you to SFS in the first place.”
