Jasmine Mitchell (MASIA’25) pursues her passion for Asia through policy and service

Jasmine Mitchell (MASIA’25) reflects on her time in Georgetown’s Master of Arts in Asian Studies program—from meeting the president of Indonesia to taking a class on Congress and Asia policy. A summer fellowship at the U.S. State Department’s East Asia and Pacific Affairs Bureau turned into a job offer, and as a Thomas R. Pickering Fellow, Jasmine is preparing to join the U.S. Foreign Service after graduation.

“I’m really looking forward to not only serving my country but also being a representative for my country abroad in embassies and consulates,” she says.
