Curriculum
The 36-credit curriculum takes place over three full semesters beginning in the fall and includes a summer practicum experience. You will take five core courses and three concentration courses in either the migration analytics or humanitarian practice track. In your final semester, you’ll complete a capstone project by working closely with an international migration or refugee agency in the U.S. or abroad. To demonstrate communication skills in a second language, you will take advanced foreign language classes to pass an oral language proficiency exam.
Career paths
The MIMR program will prepare you for a career in international development and human rights working in public, private or multilateral sectors. Graduates go on to work at organizations such as the U.S. State Department, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations and many non-governmental organizations.
