Global Human Development Student
Zoha Tunio is a development professional and investigative journalist specializing in the intersection of climate resilience, gender equity, and sustainable development. She currently serves as the Technical Advisor for Climate Change at Pathfinder International, where she leads business development initiatives to integrate climate resilience into the non-profit organization's programs across South Asia and the Middle East & North Africa (SA MENA) region. In this role, she has spearheaded funding strategies to mobilize new sources of investment, most notably developing a proposal to establish Pakistan’s first federally administered Gender and Climate Equity Seal for private organizations, aligning with national policies on gender and climate action.
Before joining Pathfinder, Zoha was the Business Development Lead at the Pakistan Environment Trust, where she managed the country’s first Net Zero coalition of businesses, working with corporate leaders to advance climate action in Pakistan’s private sector.
Zoha’s passion for environmental justice is also reflected in her career as an investigative journalist. She has reported for Inside Climate News, covering the disproportionate impact of climate change on marginalized communities in South Asia. Her work on climate and gender vulnerability has been recognized through fellowships with the Earth Journalism Network and Scripps Howard Foundation. In addition to her work in development and journalism, Zoha was an adjunct faculty member at Habib University, where she designed and taught a New Media and Journalism course, helping students build critical thinking, digital media literacy, and storytelling skills.
Zoha is a Fulbright Scholar with an M.A. in Investigative Journalism from Arizona State University. She also earned a B.S. in Media Science from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology, with a capstone project on legal and social barriers to reproductive healthcare in Pakistan.
At Georgetown, Zoha looks forward to deepening her expertise in development finance, governance, and impact evaluation to help enhance climate resilience for vulnerable communities in South Asia.
Beyond work, Zoha spends her time reading, rewatching early 2000s romantic comedies, and taking long walks—always stopping to smell the roses along the way.
