Terry Li
International Economics '26
Terry Li spent the summer on campus as a Global Development Research Fellow with gui2de’s research project. Working with Professor Joshi, Terry examined the mismatch between India’s legal mandates and environmental governance, focusing on issues such as air and water pollution and minimum wage enforcement. Through the fellowship, Terry gained hands-on experience cleaning and analyzing large datasets in Stata, conducting geospatial analysis using QGIS, and applying economic theory to policy-relevant development questions. The structured, full-time research experience—alongside scholars affiliated with institutions including Toulouse School of Economics —strengthened Terry’s interest in applied microeconomics and development research, and helped clarify future goals of pursuing graduate study in economics.
“The fellowship experience solidified my interests in economics research and provided me with opportunities to apply what I learned in the classroom into real-world settings.”
