Sandy Taylor

Global Human Development Student

Sandy Taylor is originally from California and earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan in 2018. After working in research and community health, she transitioned to international development as a Program Director with Manna Project International in Ecuador in 2022. In this role, she collaborated with local communities to design and implement initiatives focused on health, education, and economic livelihoods.

In June of 2025, she completed two years of service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in southern Ecuador, in a coastal and border province. Her work focused on youth development, life skills education, and well-being. She designed and facilitated workshops on job readiness, financial literacy, and university preparation for at-risk high school students, developed inclusive sports programming for students with disabilities, and worked alongside local organizations to address gender-based violence.

Her time in Ecuador deepened her interest in the complex factors that influence migration and inequality, particularly at the intersection of displacement, economic opportunity, and social inclusion. She is also curious about how international business diplomacy and systemic global dynamics can either reinforce or reduce vulnerabilities among marginalized populations. At Georgetown SFS, Sandy looks forward to exploring sustainable development strategies to foster inclusive economic growth across Latin America and beyond.
