Rosa Huffman

2026 Pelosi Scholar

Class of 2027

Major: IPOL

Hometown: Wynnewood, PA

Rosa is eager to pursue a career in public service with a focus on counter-terrorism and operational intelligence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Her interest is driven by a commitment to understanding the underlying ideologies, socio-political dynamics, and historical forces that shape violent extremism in the region—particularly amid rich histories, languages, and cultures. During the Fall 2025 Semester, she studied abroad in Amman, Jordan, where she learned from regional experts and gained firsthand insight into the social pressures that can push vulnerable individuals towards radicalization. Rosa aspires to contribute to U.S. intelligence efforts in counter-terrorism and great-power competition. Her dedication to service and human connection fuels her commitment to national security, where interpersonal skills and personal sacrifice safeguard marginalized communities.

Through the Pelosi Scholars Initiative, Rosa hopes to gain experience within a government agency, where she can learn how to produce actionable intelligence for policymakers—bridging the gap between her academic studies and practical application. Rosa looks forward to drawing on the Initiative’s powerful network and mentorship to continue developing as a public servant throughout her career at Georgetown and beyond.
