Senior Defense Official and Defense Attache, U.S. Embassy Doha, Qatar
Colonel Patrick C. Self assumed the duties as Senior Defense Official and Defense Attaché in Qatar in August 2023. In this role Colonel Self represents the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the USCENTCOM Commander and the DIA Director to the Government of Qatar. Colonel Self is the U.S. Ambassador’s senior military advisor, and leads one of the U.S. Embassy’s largest sections with nearly 60 officers, NCOs, civilians and foreign national staff.
