Laila Ghabrial
M.S. in Foreign Service Student
Laila Ghabrial is a graduate candidate in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, concentrating in Global Politics and Security.
Laila’s academic and professional interests center on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, with a particular focus on radicalization and government stability through a gendered lens. Laila has conducted extensive research on political violence, deradicalization, and state resilience in the region, and she intends to deepen this specialization at Georgetown through language study and regional coursework. She aims to leverage this expertise in a future career in diplomacy within the U.S. government.
Prior to joining MSFS, Laila graduated Magna Cum Laude from Villanova University in 2025 with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in Arabic and Peace & Justice. She has held internship roles in both bankruptcy and personal injury law firms. Laila aspires to pursue a policy-oriented career focused on deradicalization, human rights, and development in the Middle East.
