Kathy Trimble

Adjunct Associate Professor - Center for Security Studies (CSS)

Kathy Trimble brings over two decades of experience at the convergence of technology, policy, and industry, with a career spanning both the private sector and government service. She currently serves as the Director of Strategic Assessments for the U.S. Air Force, where she oversees analytic development and production.

Previously, she was the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Office of Commercial and Economic Analysis (OCEA), focusing on strategic competition and geoeconomics. Before her time at OCEA, Kathy was a Vice President at the Council on Competitiveness, where she led a range of innovation and competitiveness programs.

Her government career includes roles across multiple Department of Defense offices, with a focus on advanced and emerging capabilities—particularly the integration of commercial technologies to support national security. Earlier in her career, she spent over ten years in the aerospace industry.

Kathy is a Distinguished Graduate of the Eisenhower School at the National Defense University, where she earned a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy. She is also a Seminar XXI Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
