Kathy Trimble
Adjunct Associate Professor - Center for Security Studies (CSS)
Kathy Trimble has a diverse background spanning over 20 years in the private sector and government service at the intersection of technology, policy, and industry. She is the Director of Strategic Assessments at the U.S. Air Force leading analytic development and production.
She was previously the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Office of Commercial and Economic Analysis (OCEA) focused on strategic competition and geoeconomics. Prior to joining OCEA, she was a Vice President at the Council on Competitiveness and led numerous innovation and competitiveness initiatives.
Kathy served in multiple Department of Defense offices and concentrated on advanced and emerging capabilities and concepts, including the utility of artificial intelligence and the integration of commercial technologies to meet national security needs. Prior to government service, she spent over a decade in the aerospace industry.
She is a Distinguished Graduate from the Eisenhower School at National Defense University where she received a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy. Kathy was also a Seminar XXI Fellow with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science of Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University.
