Kathy Trimble
Adjunct Associate Professor - Center for Security Studies (CSS)
Kathy Trimble brings more than two decades of experience at the intersection of technology, policy, and industry, spanning leadership roles across government, academia, and the private sector. She currently serves as Director of Strategic Assessments for the U.S. Air Force, where she leads analytic development and production in support of long-range strategic planning and decision-making.
Previously, Ms. Trimble was the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Office of Commercial and Economic Analysis (OCEA), focusing on issues of strategic competition, geoeconomics, and the intersection of economic and security policy. Before joining OCEA, she served as Vice President at the Council on Competitiveness, where she oversaw national initiatives on innovation, technology, and industrial competitiveness.
Her government service includes positions across multiple offices within the Department of Defense, emphasizing the development of advanced and emerging capabilities and the integration of commercial technologies to strengthen national security. Earlier in her career, she spent over a decade in the aerospace industry, gaining extensive experience in applied technology and industrial base policy.
Ms. Trimble is a Distinguished Graduate of the Eisenhower School at the National Defense University, where she earned a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy. She is also a Seminar XXI Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
