Karen Garcia
M.S. in Foreign Service Student
Originally from New York, Karen Garcia grew up in Virginia, where she studied International Relations and French at George Mason University. During her undergraduate career, she studied abroad in Paris, France, and worked throughout the Virginia general district and juvenile courts as an appointed interpreter for Spanish and French speakers. Her experience in government entails both federal and local levels, as she interned for the White House Internship Program in 2022 and worked in the Office of White House Communications for over a year before working for the City of Manassas. Karen is a Harvard Future Leaders in Law Program fellow and aspires to pursue a Juris Doctorate in international law. Karen is a Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellow and will enter the foreign service at the U.S. Department of State upon completion of her MSFS degree.
