Juan Diego Hernández White is a Guatemalan-American working professional in the U.S. Department of the Interior – Office of International Affairs and a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S a Army Reserves. Born and raised in Guatemala, he witnessed the effects of corruption on vulnerable communities. In his formative years, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross, instilling a sense of duty and passion for helping communities in need. Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Peru and AmeriCorps volunteer in Alaska. Juan Diego remains passionate about water conservation, sustainability, and community.
Juan Diego speaks English, Spanish, and some French. He also has been culturally immersed in Quechua, and Slovak cultures. He received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Political Science from Florida International University in 2015.
In his free time, Juan Diego enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the great outdoors, traveling, and participating in cultural exchanges with friendly people from all around the world.
