Joseph Keller

Joseph B. Keller is a visiting fellow in the Foreign Policy Program at the Brookings Institution, affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Emerging Technology Initiative and the Center for Security, Strategy, and Technology. A neuroscientist turned policy researcher, his interests include the implications of emerging technologies for geopolitics, national security, and the environment.
Previously, Joseph served as a senior director of congressional and federal relations for the American Psychological Association, an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the U.S. National Science Foundation, and an executive search consultant in the civic sector.
He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in biological sciences, a master's degree from Boston University in computational neuroscience, and a doctorate in cognitive science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
