Jehan Im is a Master of Science in Foreign Service candidate at Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service, specializing in Indo-Pacific affairs with a particular focus on East Asian security and diplomacy. Born in South Korea and raised in Singapore—where he completed middle and high school—Jehan has developed a deeply international perspective shaped by living across major hubs of the Indo-Pacific region. His academic and professional interests center on the evolving dynamics of South Korea–Japan–U.S. trilateral cooperation and the broader strategic interplay among South Korea, Japan, and China.
Jehan previously served as a Political Research Assistant at Kroll Singapore, where he conducted political risk analysis in the Forensic Investigations and Intelligence team to support global clients in high-stakes decision-making. He also gained instructional experience as a Teaching Assistant in Seoul.
Before beginning graduate studies, Jehan held multiple leadership roles at the University of Toronto’s student unions, including Vice President positions within the International Relations Society and Director of Academic Affairs for the Undergraduate Public Policy Student Association. He also served as President of Volunteer Interpretation Services for Koreans (VISK), coordinating community support efforts in partnership with local organizations in the Greater Toronto Area. He graduated with High Distinction and was recognized on the Dean’s List throughout his undergraduate years.
Jehan is fluent in English and Korean. His long-term career interests span diplomacy, public sector service, and strategic consulting, where he hopes to bridge his regional expertise with practical policy and analytical skills.
