Douglas Shahan

Douglas is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel with 27 years in Cyberspace Operations. He was the lead planner for U.S. Cyber Command's concept of operations for Defensive Cyber Operations, and wrote the establishing directive for the JFHQ-DODIN. Over his military career, he served more than 10 years inside the Pentagon, developing DoD cyber policy on behalf of the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Staff, and the Air Staff. He also held five command assignments over his career, mostly leading joint and coalition combat forces deployed throughout Europe and Africa responsible for defensive cyber operations in support of U.S. operations. Douglas now works for the MITRE Corporation, a non-profit Federally-Funded Research and Development Center, where he is an advisor to the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on national C2 matters.
