Divinna Boyd

Global Human Development Student

Divinna Boyd grew up in Monrovia, Liberia and is deeply passionate about women’s rights and health equity. At sixteen, in a community struggling with high rates of teenage pregnancy and domestic violence, she co-founded and began hosting the Girls Let’s Talk Show, a national radio program that addressed issues affecting women and girls across Liberia.
She has worked with several organizations—including Plan International Liberia and ActionAid Liberia—to promote gender equality. Divinna is also a member of the Liberian chapters of the Girls Get Equal Campaign and the 1000 Girls Campaign by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). In 2019, her advocacy and leadership earned her a Certificate of Honour from Plan International-Liberia during the 2021 International Women’s Day celebration.
Divinna recently completed her undergraduate degree in Justice and Peace Studies with a minor in Global Health at Georgetown University. While at Georgetown, she participated in the GU272+ Immersion Program on racial justice and the Faith at a Crossroads program in Jordan, where she explored interfaith religious conversion and its impact on refugee communities, as well as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. She also interned at the O’Neill Institute for Global Health Law and was selected as an Advancing Women’s Empowerment and Service (AWES) Fellow, where she developed initiatives to address gender disparities.
Joining GHD as a proud double Hoya, Divinna aspires to become a health policymaker committed to ending health disparities and advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights for women in Liberia.
