Brenna Recny

M.S. in Foreign Service Student

Brenna Recny is a Master of Science in Foreign Service student at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, concentrating in Global Politics and Security. Prior to MSFS, she served as a Senior Federal Government Relations Specialist at National Grid, an international utility company operating in both the United States and the United Kingdom. In her role, Brenna advanced federal and international climate and energy policy priorities, contributed to the company’s engagement at COP29, and executed congressional and interagency strategies supporting major infrastructure and clean energy initiatives. She also directed a significant expansion of National Grid’s political action committee, strengthening executive engagement and increasing annual fundraising to support the company’s policy agenda. Earlier in her career, Brenna contributed to research and advocacy on policing policy and community reinvestment efforts, complementing her broader interest in governance and public-sector strategy. She holds a B.A. in International Studies, magna cum laude, from Boston College, where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. She is originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
