Amrita Sivaram

Amrita Sivaram was born and raised in Delhi and has spent the past six years working at the intersection of public health and policy in India, with a particular focus on programs for women and children.

She began her career in education and vocational training, supporting national programs that trained more than 100,000 educators. She later transitioned to maternal and child health, where her work has spanned research, policy, program design, and community engagement. She has advised Members of Parliament, worked alongside state governments, and spent time in villages with community health workers to understand the barriers that prevent families from accessing essential services. Several programs she has contributed to have since been adopted by state governments and scaled to reach millions of women. Most recently, she conducted research on early childhood development for a UN agency.

Amrita holds a degree in Sociology from Indraprastha College for Women and a diploma in Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding from Lady Shri Ram College, both at the University of Delhi. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Global Human Development at Georgetown University, where she hopes to deepen her expertise in program design and evaluation and build the tools to develop more effective, evidence-driven interventions.
