Ally Swindell
M.S. in Foreign Service Student
Ally Swindell is a graduate candidate in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University. Pursuing a concentration in Global Politics & Security (GPS), she is passionate about issue areas at the intersection of defense and diplomacy with regional focuses on Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
Prior to joining the Walsh School of Foreign Service, Ally obtained her BA in International Relations from the College of William & Mary. At William & Mary, she held research assistantships with AidData’s Chinese Development Finance Program and the Global Research Institute’s Security & Foreign Policy Initiative. She also served as a research and teaching assistant for the College’s first Wargaming & Strategic Analysis and Wargaming: Theory to Practice courses while acting as a Game Designer and Facilitator for William & Mary’s Wargaming Lab.
Beyond William & Mary, Ally’s experience includes internships with the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC, U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany, and the U.S. Army War College, as well as a term as a visiting student at Hertford College, University of Oxford. A proud Arkansan, she was also honored to serve as the Arkansas delegate to the 2024 Henry Clay College Congress.
