Why recruit at SFS?

Each year, dozens of employers engage with the School of Foreign Service through customized recruitment strategies, industry events and high-impact networking.

By monitoring career and hiring trends and providing insights on student outcomes, industry demands and workforce shifts, we empower our academic programs and employers alike with data-driven strategies to enhance recruitment success. This collaboration strengthens employer brands and expands talent pipelines.

We connect students to public, private and nonprofit employers, recruiting students for full-time and internship positions. In a typical year, over 150 employers participate in on-campus presentations to promote their organization, explain the recruitment process, and in many cases, share and market open internships and full-time positions.

How to connect with SFS graduate students

We provide high-quality employer engagement through flagship events, signature programs, mid-semester initiatives and tailored recruitment opportunities. Whether hiring, building a talent pipeline or simply expanding your organization’s brand awareness, our boutique-style approach ensures enriching experiences through program initiatives, career fairs, networking socials and site visits, fostering meaningful connections among our most engaged employers and students.

During the academic year, there is a wide range of industry and regional panels, some of which are hosted by SFS clubs and student leaders. These discussions provide valuable sector information, insights about specific organizations and institutions and strategies to leverage regional expertise in the job market. Students can also participate in employer site visits to targeted organizations.
