Curricular Requirements

As a student pursuing a School of Foreign Service (SFS) undergraduate degree, you must complete all curricular requirements for graduation.

This includes acquiring at least 120 credits, fulfilling the interdisciplinary core curriculum (university and SFS core), meeting language proficiency standards and satisfying the specific requirements of a major. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to engage in additional studies by pursuing a minor or enrolling in a certificate program.

Undergraduate Bulletin

All official university, program and school policies, as well as curricular requirements, are outlined in the Undergraduate Bulletin. It is your responsibility to keep well informed on these. Any updates made to the Undergraduate Bulletin will be communicated to you.

Number of minors and certificates you can pursue

Among minors and certificates, two at most may be pursued (two minors, two certificates or one minor and one certificate).

Double counting credits

Double counting between majors and certificates is limited to no more than two classes per major. All majors will allow double counting of two classes. Some certificate programs may allow fewer than two courses to double count.

Exceptions exist with some minors and certificates, so be sure to check with each program.
