Application procedure

To apply for the Carroll Round conference, please complete the application form above. After you submit your application, the steering committee may request additional information before making a decision. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Notification timeline

  • International applicants: Expect to receive a decision around mid-March.
  • Domestic applicants: Anticipate notifications in early April.

Please be patient while we process applications, as we typically receive a high volume.

Co-authored papers

We welcome students submitting a co-authored paper in their application, as long as your co-author is also an undergraduate student. The co-authors do not need to attend the same university. Please keep in mind, however, that funding will be allocated on a per-paper basis. If multiple authors of the same paper wish to apply, they may submit one application.

Applications for papers in progress

You can apply before you have finished your research. We strongly encourage you to include a paper abstract with a detailed data and methodology section that will give us an idea of your paper topic and quality. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Steering Committee. Your paper must be complete by the time of the conference.

International applicants

We welcome applications from international students. Note that international applicants must apply by the earlier deadline. If accepted to the conference, you are responsible for obtaining visas and travel documentation. We can assist by providing the necessary supporting documents.

In the case that you are selected to present but are unable to travel, the steering committee may accommodate a hybrid or online presentation option. Please remember that being an international applicant will not negatively impact your chances of selection. We encourage all applicants whose research displays econometric rigor and original insight to apply.

Paper topics

The conference welcomes papers from all fields of economics, covering both domestic and international topics.
