The Graduate Career Center is looking for students interested in on-campus work this Summer! There are two openings for the position, both full- and part-time. Students should be comfortable conducting themselves with a sense of professionalism, prioritizing competing tasks, and working in a team environment.
Job Description:
The Assistant will serve as “the face” of the SFS Graduate Career Center, and will perform multiple functions to support GCC communications, events, office management, and data management.
Communications:
- Manage and monitor GCC social media channels
- Serve as liaison between GCC and GSFS students
- Manage the GCC Gmail inbox
- Update WalshWorks and the Career Bulletin data document with job, internship and fellowship opportunities
- Plan and schedule communication emails for incoming students
Events:
- Work directly with GCC staff to help with logistics for over 250 center in-person and virtual events including employer information sessions, on-campus interviews, skills workshops, receptions and other programmatic activities (including room reservations, set-up and clean-up, AV equipment reservations, catering and related event needs)
- Manage marketing materials for events
Office Management (for in-person):
- Maintain inventory of office supplies
- Manage flow of appointment and drop-in traffic
- Update weekly event PowerPoint to be displayed in GCC suite
Data Management/Research:
- Assist with various data projects to track employment outcomes, student engagement, etc.
- Conduct proactive research on market and hiring trends, and other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current SFS Graduate student or rising BSFS Junior/Senior
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, WalshWorks, Mailchimp, Canva, Social Media Channels, Google Data
Hours: 10-20/week
