Juliette Leader is a sophomore at Georgetown, and was excited to be back home in Luxembourg for the summer. Originally half-English and half-American, she had a very international upbringing and has continued to develop this international orientation in the SFS.
Adam Shlomi interned for Aliza Lavie, an MK in the Israeli Knesset. Starting on May 17th, Adam flew to Israel and participated in a Birthright trip, after Birthright he visited neighboring Egypt and Jordan before starting his internship on June 4.
Gina Kim is a senior in the SFS studying International Economics and Spanish. She is from New Jersey and had a great time departing from her beloved East Coast for the great state of Michigan. She was at Skypoint Ventures from May 26th until August 18th working on their co-working space, the Ferris Wheel.
A rising senior in the SFS, Olivia is majoring in International Economics with a focus on sustainable development and a minor in German. She interned with the Georgetown University Initiative on Innovation, Development and Evaluation in Kampala, Uganda this June and July, where she worked on a road safety research project called Speak Up.
Josev is a rising Junior in the School of Foreign Service, majoring in Science, Technology and International Affairs. Originally from Davao City, Philippines, his interest about international relations started to develop during the time of the Great Recession in ’08 – same year when he emigrated to the United States. He is passionate about issues concerning global health, social justice, the environment, and human rights.
Leonor Morrow is a rising junior majoring in Culture and Politics and minoring in Russian. Some of her hobbies include photography, writing, ballroom dancing, and learning foreign languages. This summer she studied abroad in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Nick Na is a senior in the School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Political Economy with a certificate in International Development. Nick found his passion for international development in Clarkston, Georgia, through a high school refugee tutoring ministry in which he worked with children from Afghanistan, Somalia, Eritrea, Bhutan, and Nepal.
Elisabeth (Libby) Bassini is a rising junior in the School of Foreign Service’s Science, Technology and International Affairs (STIA) program with a concentration in Business, Growth and Development. She has previously completed extensive big data research at Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute in Buffalo, New York (2013).
Kathryn “Kay” Threatt is a rising senior studying International Politics: Security Studies with a minor in Spanish and a certificate in Diplomatic Studies. During her time as a student at Georgetown University she has served as a member of the 91st Annual Diplomatic Ball Planning Committee, Secretary & Vice President of the Georgetown University Chapter of the NAACP, and studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a Gilman International Scholarship Recipient.
Hannah is a rising sophomore in the SFS, intending to major in International Politics with a concentration in International Security and a minor in Arabic. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Hannah took a gap year in Morocco where she intensively studied Arabic, taught English and worked as a communications intern for the High Atlas Foundation.
