Terrorism: A Review of the Current Threat Landscape
The Center for Security Studies and the Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) at the University of St Andrews are proud to present Terrorism: A Review of the Current Threat Landscape, taking place at Georgetown University on January 23-24, 2020.
This two-day conference will address ongoing threats from ISIS and al Qaeda as well as their respective branches, from Iran and other state-sponsors, and from violent far-right extremism and the Incel movement. Other panels will focus on counterterrorism legal and privacy issues, countering state-sponsored terrorism, and technology and terrorism.
The conference will feature discussions between experts from Georgetown, St Andrews, and the wider community, including keynotes from Lord Jonathan Evans, former Director General of the British Security Service (MI5), and Nick Rasmussen, former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC).
