Building Resilience During Coronavirus
Join Professor Elizabeth Stanley every Monday and Thursday from 4:15 to 4:45 pm EDT for 30 minutes of guided exercises and other tips for boosting your resilience during the coronavirus pandemic.
The author of Widen the Window: Training Your Brain and Body to Thrive during Stress and Recover from Trauma, Liz created a resilience training program called Mindfulness-based Mind Fitness Training (MMFT). MMFT has been taught to thousands of people working in high-stress civilian and military environments. You can read about the published scientific research about MMFT’s resilience-boosting effects among combat troops on her website.
In these biweekly sessions for SFS students, staff, and faculty, Liz will teach some of MMFT’s experiential exercises to help your brain and body recover from stress, anxiety, and other strong emotions during this challenging time. We will record the sessions so that you can watch them asynchronously and practice these exercises regularly to calm your survival brain and boost your resilience.
