Reader in Modern History
Bangor University

Alexander Sedlmaier is Reader in Modern History at Bangor University, Wales. He is presently Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Movements at Ruhr-University Bochum. Recent publications: Public Goods vs Economic Interests: Global Perspectives on the History of Squatting [ed. with F. Anders, 2017]; Consumption and Violence: Radical Protest in Cold-War West Germany [2014, German translation 2018]. His current research looks at the political means employed by those who, for various reasons, resorted to protest during times of war in the period from the First World War to the Iraq War.
