More About the Souk Al-Fikr Series:
The title of our series is a play on the name “سوق عكاظ” or “Souq Okaz,” a marketplace in what is now Saudi Arabia in which Arab leaders historically gathered to discuss politics, culture and most famously – host poetry competitions. It is this Souq which served to formalize rules of Arabic grammar and syntax.
