I Spy with My Private Eye: Contracting, Sovereignty, and the US Intelligence Community
Simon Frankel Pratt is a post-doctoral researcher, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto, where he is currently also a lecturer. His research focuses on institutional change, strategic innovation, and normative evolution in national and international security sectors.
His project in DC examines the private intelligence industry and practices of government contracting. His past work has focused on issues in international relations theory and on US counter-terrorism policies, and may be found in recent publications in International Studies Quarterly, European Journal of International Relations, International Studies Review, and Terrorism and Political Violence.
