Fr. Albert Alejo, SJ on Human Rights in the Philippines

January 18 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EST

Thousands of Filipinos have been killed extrajudicially in anti-drug operations over the past eighteen months. In this forum, Professor Albert Alejo S.J. will examine the challenge of protecting human rights in the Philippines. He will also discuss our role in helping end these killings and advocating for the protection of human rights in the Philippines, including by supporting Senate bill S. 1055: “Philippine Human Rights Accountability and Counternarcotics Act” sponsored by Senator Ben Cardin and Senator Marco Rubio.

This forum is sponsored by US Filipinos for Good Governance and Georgetown University’s Asian Studies Program, the Asia Pacific Forum, the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs, and the MS in Foreign Service (MSFS) Program.
