Book Talk: The Long Hangover: Putin’s Russia and the Ghosts of the Past

January 17 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm EST

Join CERES for a book talk with Shaun Walker, as he discusses his new book, The Long Hangover: Putin’s New Russia and the Ghosts of the Past, which traces Vladimir Putin’s use of history, especially victory in the Second World War, to create a new sense of national pride among Russians and to fill the void left by the Soviet collapse. It examines how this, and a parallel process in Ukraine, led to the events of 2014 and the resurgent Russia we see today.
