Pete Giannino (MAGES '18) is a rising second year in the German & European Studies program who is also pursuing a certificate in Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies. Pete is interested in energy and security and how the intersection of these two disciplines shapes foreign policy, especially with regards to the United States, European Union, and Russia. Pete is a former Fulbright scholar, having lived in Münster, Germany from 2010-2011, and worked for five years in international business prior to enrolling at Georgetown. Pete received his bachelor's degree from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he double majored in German Studies and Russian & Post-Soviet studies. This past summer, Pete interned with the Department of Commerce in the Office of Energy and Environmental Industries, where he worked on civil nuclear energy issues and the promotion of U.S. civil nuclear technology and services.
